Description
This 1933 Talbot AV105 was ordered new in July 1933 by London distributor Warwick Wright Ltd. and is clothed in “Coupe des Alpes” four-place aluminum coachwork provided by Vanden Plas in the style of the three works cars that swept to a team victory in the 1932 Alpine Rally. Chassis 35349 was originally owned by a London man who earned two JCC medals while campaigning it at Brooklands in 1935 and 1936. The car subsequently passed through several stewards in the UK before being purchased in .....
2013 by its current owner, who commissioned a refurbishment by Talbot specialist I.S. Polson in Suffolk, England, before importing it to the US following the project's 2019 completion. Finished in its original shade of blue over blue leather, the car is powered by a replacement 2,969cc inline-six that features staggered overhead valves and is mated to a four-speed pre-selector gearbox. Additional features include four-wheel finned drum brakes, Armstrong hydraulic shock absorbers combined with Hartford friction front shocks, 19” wire wheels powder-coated in blue, an updated starting and charging system, and a black convertible top. This AV105 Coupe des Alpes is now offered on dealer consignment in Cave Creek, Arizona, with invoices from the I.S. Polson refurbishment, copies of service literature, an owner's manual with a pull-out wiring diagram, a tool kit, a Talbot jack with a three-piece handle, a pair of Brooklands-style windscreens, side curtains, and a clean Arizona title listing the car as a 1934 model.
