This 1954 Ford Crestline has been upgraded with a 5.0 V8, great paint, updated suspension, four-wheel disc brakes, an overdrive transmission, and a leather-lined A/C interior. So you can read on for all the details, but you already know this is a terrific restomod. This pro-built Crestline started with a super-straight car, it was then chemically stripped bare and rebuilt from the ground up. The work was done in 2008, but the fact it has traveled less than 2,900 miles since then is the real .....
indicator of the level of sleekness and freshness that this one presents. The maroon paint is the right hue for a dignified 1950s machine, but there's much more going on here. The deep metallic element and good gloss lets this radiate to let everyone know this is a special machine. And items like the clear headlights and polished American Racing Torq Thrust wheels are more great indications of a full custom build. We know exactly why someone spent the time and money making this one look so good. These Fords have an instant appeal with a bright front end that has both a wraparound bumper and grille. Plus, there's plenty of jet-inspired elements like the hood ornament, full-length trim, and afterburner-style taillights. So this was already a highly stylized package before the custom investment. The interior is likely to win you awards all on its own. It is a thoughtfully crafted package that uses a mute gray to really draw your eye to the tan alligator texture leather. It's not only on the seats, but also used to trim the custom door panels, center console, dash, and even the trunk for a full uniform style. Those front seats perfectly define why you want a restomod. They are well-bolstered buckets that provide more all-day comfort than anything from the 1950s ever could. They even power adjust to the ideal position. You also have the best in modern comfort with power windows, cup holders, and cold-blowing air conditioning. And the touchscreen radio is your gateway to the modern AM/FM/CD infotainment system w/Bluetooth. It's a terrific driver setup with a Lokar floor shifter and a sports steering wheel mounted on an Ididit tilt column. This is such a detailed build that the speedometer was sent out to Classic Instruments just to have the custom look with integrated tach - a $3,950 investment all on its own! It's nice to see a Ford get upgraded in the engine bay while still keeping the power in the blue oval family. This is a 5.0-liter V8 borrowed from an Explorer, and while that already makes it much younger than 1954, you can see that was just the beginning of the investments. This was rebuilt in 2018, and includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, upgraded cam, and shorty headers feeding the dual exhaust. Plus, you'll spot the right supporting components, like steel braided fuel lines, upgraded pulleys, a separate trans cooler. This is really built to be a driver, and so you have some great features for journeys near or far. That's why you have a four-speed automatic transmission with highway friendly overdrive, and the big Griffin aluminum radiator with electric fans helps keep it running cool even in traffic. The suspension has an upgraded Fatman front clip with a newer alignment and front bushings in 2019. Add in power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes, and wide BF Goodrich tires, and you know this one is ready to turn heads out on the streets. The sale comes complete with restoration photos, maintenance receipts, service manuals, and build receipts. This is one of those comprehensive builds that rarely leave their creator's hands.
