Fall Sale! The leaves are dropping and so are our prices! With clean, ahead of their time styling, above average performance and relative rarity compared to all the Chevys and Fords seen at your local Cars and Coffee, its no wonder that Studebakers have developed a cult-like following. Produced from 1959-1966, the compact Lark line-up included a coupe, sedan, convertible and wagon. Engine options included V8s and, later on, even supercharged V8s. Offered here is anything but a standard 1960 Studebaker Lark sedan. The previous owner went full custom on this Lark, making substantial modifications to the body, powertrain and interior. Saying that this Studebaker is somewhat unique is like saying The Beatles were kind of a decent band. This bad in black sedan features a grille with horizontal bars rather than the original cross hatch insert, while the old round headlights have been replaced with sleeker Mercedes-Benz units from the W126 S-Class. Large taillights from a first-generation Ford Probe fill out the rear panel while the cars profile is cleaned up via the deletion of the original chrome accent. Inside this compacts cabin are cloth bucket seats (with 6-way power adjustment for the driver), power windows, a full set of nine custom gauges, and a B&M Quick Silver shifter. A four-spoke LeCarra steering wheel provides a sporty touch while a large power sunroof was fitted for added fair weather enjoyment. A proven Chevy 350 V8 now resides in the engine bay. Fortified with a B&M Forced Induction supercharger, the beefed-up small block makes somewhere around 350-375 horsepower. Headers and a dual exhaust system with SuperTrapp adjustable mufflers allow you to tune the exhaust to your preference. All those ponies run through a stout TH350 automatic fitted with the aforementioned B&M shifter that allows ratchet-style manual gear changes. A 10-bolt Positraction rear end finishes off the powertrain enhancements. For more effective stopping power, a power front disc/rear drum brake system replaces the original manual four-wheel drum setup, while the suspension benefits from upgraded springs as well as anti-sway bars. It all sits on a set of 15-inch Pontiac Trans Am Snow Flake alloy wheels wrapped in white-lettered Dunlop tires. More a very good quality and fun driver than a lawn show queen, this customized 60 Studebaker Lark is an extremely unique show stopper that promises a lot of bang for the buck.
