What we've got here is really something else. In the showroom now is this absolutely stunning 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle Convertible, and Coyote Classics is more than happy to present it for consideration. This one is the real deal, being an authentic Chevelle SS396 with a numbers-matching L35 396 C.I. V8 and a 3.31:1 PosiTraction rear axle. The attention to detail on this SS is absolutely jaw-dropping, as nearly every inch of this Chevelle is period-correct right down to the sticker badging on .....
the engine's chrome valve covers. Compared to the previous model year, 1966 Chevelles got a completely new restyling on the previous frame that included smooth contours, a broad new grille and curved side windows. The new bodylines showed off the ""Coke-bottle"" styling that became the fad for American cars in the mid-1960s. As previously stated, this drop-top Chevelle is powered by a numbers-matching 396 C.I. V8 engine paired to a Holley ""Turbo-Jet"" 4-barrel carburetor, putting down more than enough power to get the wheels spinning. Torque from the 396 gets to the rear axle through a Hurst 4-speed manual transmission, as the original slow-shifting 2-speed ""Powerglide"" automatic had been updated during restoration to something a little more fitting for an SS396. The paint is positively beautiful, with a crystal-clear maroon tint covering bodylines that are laser-straight. The interior is just as fantastic as it looks, with dark red vinyl bucket seats matched with a deluxe center console, including a working factory clock! Additionally, the black power convertible top is in great working condition, ready for any cruise day. Options fitted to this SS396 include power steering, power brakes, a power convertible top, a tilt steering wheel, a center console with working clock, a ""Knee-Knocker"" correct tachometer, an AM pushbutton radio, and a sweet-sounding dual exhaust system. It has a beautiful and straight undercarriage, frame, and body. Many years ago, before the car was of value and restored, it had a rebuilt title. Even though it is a show-quality car, it still has that ""rebuilt"" lettering on the top of the title. The car rides on some some badass stock maroon-painted wheels with Chevrolet chrome dog-dish hubcaps, which are mounted on top of some retro-style Goodyear redline tires. This '66 Chevelle is sitting in our showroom now, looking for a new driver. Why don't you give it the chance it needs to get back out and burn rubber again?
