Description
This 1966 Ford Mustang fastback is made to be a tribute to a GT350H, but it hides an even larger secret. The VIN is for a K-code factory car! That rarity and performance lineage is why this one has been given investments like a five-speed and a properly built powerful V8 under the hood.

This is a very cool custom presentation of an icon. The black paint with gold stripes borrows the Shelby GT350 Hertz livery we all love. This one seems to do a terrific job of being a detailed build. So .....
you get the GT350's hood scoop, hood pins, clean grille with offset pony emblem, side scoops, and plenty of the correct Shelby badging. There are even classic Hertz logos in the center caps of the mag wheels. You can tell this was built to be a driver, and that's certainly a compliment. The full Hertz livery has a nice gloss without creating Museum-level anxiety so that your smile is genuine on every Sunday drive. And the radiant chrome bumpers, well-fitting doors, and clean glass let you see all the angles from the outside to ensure everyone understands this is a striking and detailed power pony.

The interior keeps the Shelby feeling going. The full black package has plush carpeting, good upholstery, and a smooth dash, making it ready for a drive. You have Shelby upgrades like racing front seatbelts, a wood-rimmed sports steering wheel with a Cobra center cap, and a correct-style Cobra racing tach mounted prominently on the dash. And there are other sporty features, like the full round gauges and folding rear seat. Plus, you know it was made to be a driver's car when you count the gears on the shifter.

The engine bay has a tidy style letting you see the power within. This 289 cubic-inch V8 is a replacement block, but we are told it's a proper HiPo K-code motor (there is photo documentation of this but no secondary verification.) It does have the correct heads, alternator, and other details you want on a K-code V8. The motor was fully rebuilt as part of full restoration in the 1980-90s and continues to look and feel great because of constant investment. So you see newer supporting components, like MSD distributor, steel braided lines, Cobra finned valve covers, and a newer fuel tank. This strong-running powerhouse makes a terrific tune out of the dual exhaust. And you're in even better control of the V8's sound and fury thanks to the upgraded five-speed manual transmission. As a proper Shelby tribute, it wants you to get a for the pavement from behind the wheel. But this also does it confidently with features like Koni shocks, front disc brakes, and rear traction bars. We're even told this is running a versatile 3.73 limited-slip rear end.

The sale includes the build receipts, maintenance records, and verification photos. The K-code fastbacks were the true one-percenters of the first few years of the Mustang's production. So that already gives this one some awesome rarity even before you enjoy the GT350H appearance and awesome driver attitude. So yes, this is the classic you'll love to own and drive. Call now!
