First Generation Camaros have always been favorites for both aficionados and regular muscle car fans alike, and high-impact cars like this 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS (and yes, it's a real-deal RS/SS verified with the trim tag) will always be popular. With a great-running 350 cubic inch small block V8, a quick-shifting 4-speed manual transmission, a comfortable black interior, and the perfect predatory stance, it's a dialed-in Camaro that's turn-key and ready to turn some heads today.
Born with Madeira Maroon paint, a few years back this Camaro was upgraded to a bright shade of Bolero Red - the archetypal F-Body color that always looks fantastic, especially with black stripes 'Bumble Bee' nose stripes and the contrasting factory black vinyl roof. For fans of the simplicity of the early Camaros, few colors could be better, and the pro's that did the color change did everything right, as there are no conspicuous signs of the old shade anywhere. Red seems to emphasize the sheetmetal's curves; just look at the kick-up behind the doors and the sharp crease that runs the length of the body, neatly bisecting the doors and rear quarter. It's a driver-quality finish through-and-through, with a few imperfections and a couple signs of touch-ups here and there, but the curb appeal is undeniable and it will put a smile on your face every time you walk up and get inside. As a true RS/SS-spec car it has the traditional hidden headlights up front and simple single-element taillight lenses out back, not to mention the SS-spec hood complete with blacked-out inserts that offer a cool custom touch, and the requisite emblems at the bookends let everyone know what time it is. Chrome is quite good throughout, including the front and rear bumpers, and the set of ""SS"" badges on the fenders serve as a warning to any potential challengers at red lights.
Complementing the red paint, a set of restored black Deluxe buckets (this car was born with factory buckets, however they were originally Parchment) greet you when you climb aboard, split by a factory center console that houses the 4-speed manual. Plush black carpets and matching door panels complete the OEM look, and all of the soft stuff inside looks to have been recently replaced. A sporty, wood-rimmed Pilot steering wheel will make you want to go out and by leather driving gloves to complete the sensational look, and just beyond it the dual-pods still carry what are likely the original gauges, complete with a factory tachometer with a correct 5500RPM redline. Auxiliary gauges fitted at the leading edge of the center console are a Camaro trademark, and that cue ball topped Hurst shifter falls easily to hand while managing the factory-correct 4-speed manual transmission living underneath. Entertainment comes courtesy of a newer Jensen AM/FM/CD/AUX stereo head unit that's been neatly installed in the center stack and seems to blend in with its surroundings, although it looks like it will need a little work before tunes pump into the cabin again. The back seat looks almost new, which isn't usually a surprise in Camaros, and if you open the deck lid you'll find a spacious and solid trunk wearing proper spatter-finish paint.
Power comes from an ultra-clean and sweet-running 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Finished in Chevy Orange engine enamel, with a set of chrome Edelbrock valve covers that are always right on a small block Chevy, it definitely has a performance look. An aluminum Edelbrock Performer intake manifold with a matching Edelbrock 4-barrel carb help build horsepower, and in the lightweight Camaro, the big hit of torque is a real thrill every single time. There's also a modern alternator for added spark, and a big radiator up front that keeps the whole show nice and cool. The aforementioned 4-speed manual transmission feeds a 10-bolt rear end and a set of long-tube headers feed a fresh dual exhaust system with Super Turbo mufflers that sounds downright nasty. Clean floors dusted in satin black look great, power steering and power front disc brakes improve the ride quality greatly, and the perfect stance is set atop a set of Classic Rallye wheels wrapped in 215/65/15 front and 235/60/15 rear BFGoodrich T/A white-letter performance radials that totally fill the fenders.
