The 1969 Camaro was recently named the most significant Chevrolet of the past 100 years, and when you look at this beautiful Daytona Yellow 1969 Chevrolet Camaro RS convertible, it's pretty easy to figure out why. With a believed-original 327 V8 under the hood, a top-end restoration, and timeless good-looks, this Camaro tells you all you need to know about the democratic process.

Restomod Camaros might get a lot of attention these days, but if you want to look like an adult and pay .....
proper respect to our American Muscle Car forefathers, faithfully restored cars like this gorgeous Code 76B Daytona Yellow convertible are the smart choice. Not too bright, but not soft, either, it's one of the quintessential muscle car colors that projects both style and aggression. Nut-and-bolt restored to a top driver-quality standard (if not borderline show-quality by the measures of most professionals, although we prefer to be conservative) and still looks fantastic today, with great panel fit and laser-straight sheetmetal throughout. It has spent some time as a fair-weather driver, so it's not a perfect showcar any longer, although any signs of use and age can easily be forgiven and quite frankly it's about as good as you'll ever find at this price-point. The painted-on black 'bumble-bee' nose stripes are almost mandatory, and the way it continues up the hood is incredibly cool, just like the ducktail spoiler out back - all of which are welcome additions on this super-slick droptop. Other cool features include a cowl induction hood, hide-away headlights, chrome trim on the 1969-only rear quarter ""gills"", and all the bright ""RS"", ""327"", and ""Camaro"" badges in their correct factory locations. Details like the blacked-out grille, RS hidden headlights, and polished stainless wheel moldings were all options, and they elevate this Camaro above some of its stripped-down brothers. And with the bright chrome bumpers fore and aft and the clean black vinyl top that stores neatly behind the rear seat, this is just a drop-dead, great-looking convertible Camaro!

Code 712 Custom black vinyl buckets work nicely with the bright yellow paint, and the upscale interior is a wonderful place in which to spend some time. The seats show almost no wear, and the depth of the detailing on the seat covers means these were restored properly using correct upholstery according to the factory specs. The factory gauges are still intact ahead of the driver, augmented with white-face Bosch units inside the horseshoe-shifter center console, and the wood-trimmed RS steering wheel and wood applique found in the dash and middle console adds an upscale air to this Camaro that fits it well. There's still a Delco AM/FM radio in the dash, although it's due for an upgrade if you want open-air tunes, and other than seatbelts and a factory heater, that's about the options list on this Camaro. The black carpets are plush and protected with Bowtie vinyl mats, and this is still a car you can jump in and enjoy right away. A newer black convertible top adds to the grown-up look and is in excellent condition while the spacious trunk is outfitted with a reproduction mat and carries a full-size spare tire and jack set.

Few powertrain combinations are more reliable and time-tested than a 327 cubic inch V8 backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay is neatly detailed with some chrome dress-up pieces like the finned valve covers and chrome air cleaner to complement the Chevy Orange paint on the block itself. It's been beefed up with an Edelbrock intake manifold and an Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor, and the soundtrack is just right thanks to factory-style manifolds feeding into a dual exhaust below. It starts easily and runs great, and at full bore, it certainly sounds like a predator. Babied and well-maintained throughout its life, you know the chassis is clean and exactly what you want when you buy a car with the intention of driving it, with newer suspension components found throughout. A burbling dual exhaust system is just right, not too loud and with power steering maneuvering the droptop with ease and a big aluminum radiator maintaining the temperatures, driving this droptop regularly is an absolute delight. Rounding out this car's list of noteworthy attributes are Rallye wheels adorned with bright center caps and beauty rings, all of which are wrapped with 225/70/14 BFGoodrich redline radials to finish off the correct look.

If you haven't experienced the greatest Chevy of all time, this is an ideal opportunity to do so. Offered with its original owner's manuals, a verifiable history, service manuals, and restoration photos, this low-ownership '69 Camaro is a very special piece. Call today!
