I bought this mostly original car from my cousin (2nd owner) without any reservations. He is the Chevy guru everyone goes to for Chevy, Nova, Camaro, and Chevelle work and information. The car has over 200k miles on it, but you wouldn’t know it to see or drive it. It starts, runs, and drive like a new car due to diligent maintenance.
This mechanically sound original has the factory 350, auto trans, 10-bolt positive-traction rear, deluxe interior, AC (needs new hose), power steering, and power disc brakes that it came with. It has a thick file of documentation. The vinyl top, headliner, suspension bushings, and heater core have all been replaced over time. I added the wheels and new tires when I bought it in 2013. I have taken several 2-hour road trips and would take it on a long road trip with no reservations.
The body needs some attention. It has the usual areas of problem in the lower front fenders and rear wells. The car appears to have had some fender benders before my cousin bought it, since the paint doesn’t match in a few places. A reputable veteran body man/restorer he could do the work it needs for 2000-2500. I’ m putting my money in daughter’s college and ‘63 Belair right now, so I’m ready to let someone else enjoy this.
I’m glad to answer any questions and allow you to talk to my cousin as well if you have questions. This a good entry level driver and great candidate for the finish you want.
