1974 model HMV Freeway. It is in perfect operating condition. Manufactured by High Mileage Vehicles this Freeway Deluxe is more than just a head turner, People will actually turn around and follow you till you stop just to see it up close and ask about it. It is a first place every time winner in both car and motorcycle shows. If you park it at a store it will be completely surrounded when you come out, so be prepared for pictures and questions anytime you take it out. There were only a few .....
hundred that were built during production and sold to the public between 1978 and 1981. The body is fiberglass and has a few minor imperfections, but nothing that takes away from its appeal. It is still a gorgeous little one passenger car. The clear title shows the car to be a 1974 and it is currently tagged as antique. I have owned it for a couple of years and have rebuilt the drive line with all original Comet parts. Brand new Coment Duster clutch and secondary drive assembly and gates belt. It is ready to go and needs nothing done to it unless you want to give it a paint job for a new look but that is up to the new owner. It wins shows like it is. Top speed for me at 240 pounds and depending on what direction the wind is blowing is 50 to 58 mph. If you are lighter than 240 you can expect higher top speeds maybe even up to 65 mph. I do not advise you drive it at that speed. Its model may be 'Freeway' but the slightest motion in the steering wheel at that speed is a full lane change. You can drive it down the highway after you get used to it, but in town it drives like a dream. Features: 16 HP Tecumseh with electric start engine. All new original drive line as mentioned above 7 gallon fuel tank Dash gauges include Oil Temp, Volts, and Fuel FM/USB/SD/IPod Stereo system with four speakers Keyless entry (no outside door handles seen) One button on the remote honks the horn Flip up back hatch for hauling Sun Roof Mileage: Highway it gets 45 to 50 mpg going 50 to 58 mph. In town (20 to 30 mph) it gets 60 to 70 mph with lots of stopping in traffic. In town (30 to 40 mph) minimal stopping in traffic you can get as high as 104 mpg. Where I drive it I get between 65 and 75 mpg. Not bad at all. I have lots of paperwork on its origin and information about the HMV Company and its history that goes with the car. The TLGWindPower.com on the car is just vinyl lettering and will come off with a hair dryer. Over the last couple of years I have seen two of these cars on collectors' sites that sold for 21,000.00. The car was about the same exterior condition as mine, but it did not have a rebuilt driveline nor did it have front disc brakes.
