Then you look up and over that long hood, and you can't help but notice the functional shaker hood, tempting you to move the tachometer needle! Right under that scoop is the VIN teasing "W" coded, 455CID V-8 with a Muncie 4-speed manual transmission that provides the "muscle" in this car. That's 7.5 liters, and the final year that engine option was available in the Trans Am. Instrumentation consists of a 100-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and voltage.
