Description
A true survivor of a car with only 78k believed-to-be original miles, this 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans-Am 10th Anniversary is in near-perfect mechanical condition. An Illinois car since new in 1979, this Trans-Am is a rare bird, one of only a couple thousand 10th-Anniversary Trans-Ams ever built. Along with its special 10th Anniversary paint treatment, graphics, and wheels, this '79 Trans-Am is also a fantastic example, well-optioned with ice-cold factory A/C, a working AM/FM/8-Track player .....
stereo, T-Tops and more. Powered by a believed-to-be original Oldsmobile 403 C.I. (6.6 Liter) V8 that breathes through a "Shaker" hood intake and a 4-barrel carburetor, this '79 Trans-Am sure is quick. Behind the 403 sits a reliable TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, allowing for seamless shifting and a smooth ride. The exterior is simply stunning, featuring a tri-color combination of silver, black, and red laid out over laser-straight bodylines. The floors, frame, trunk and jambs on this '79 Pontiac are all rock-solid and present wonderfully. Opening the large twin doors and stepping into the interior feels just like stepping back into 1979, as the comfortable, original cloth & leather bucket seats are perfect for long-distance cruising and listening to tunes on the working factory-installed radio. This '79 Trans-Am is absolutely loaded with options, and all of them work besides the clock. They include power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, factory gauges & tachometer, a working original AM/FM/8-Track stereo system, power windows, power locks, ice-cold factory A/C, a remote driver's mirror, "dual-sport" mirrors, factory T-Tops, a Shaker functional hood intake, working cruise control, a working rear defroster, and a sweet-sounding dual exhaust system. In addition, the car rides over stock 15" Pontiac "Salad-Shooter" wheels over Wide-track RWL tires for an eye-catching period correct look. This '79 Trans-Am runs and drives like a brand new car, a fantastic example of original Pontiac performance. It won't last long in our showroom, and we'd love to see you drive it away.
