This nice car came to me as a trade-in. The owner has a nice small collection of 80’s cars and this was part of his collection. He made the claim that the odometer reading of 53,918 is actual mileage, however, due to its age and lack of documentation, we must sell it as”exempt from mileage disclosure”.
At the same time, I feel that he was truthful. When I look at the very nice original paint over the solid rust-free body, it makes sense. When I cleaned the interior and found the upholstery .....
and carpet to be in fantastic condition, it makes sense. When I start and drive the car, it all makes sense. In my opinion, he was telling the truth.
This is a Sport Coupe equipped with the optional 305 V8. I doubt I would have taken it as a trade had it been either a four cylinder or six cylinder Camaro. The transmission is the durable 700r4 overdrive automatic.
There aren’t a lot of options on this car. It comes with power steering and brakes, air-conditioning, power hatch lock and a Sony stereo. He recently added the very nice chrome five spoke wheels and radial 235/60/15 tires.
All features work with exception of the air-conditioning. The compressor is locked up. All lights work. Gauges and a tachometer were added and they work. The doors and hatch lock via key. There is a spare and jack stowed in the proper location.
The underside of this car is amazing. It appears to have been undercoated when new. Much of that remains, but where it has come off, the floor pans are still red and without even so much as surface rust.
This car is certainly capable of being a daily driver. Yet the color, quality and addition of the wheels and tires makes it worthy of your local car show.
