With its 450+ hp supercharged motor, five-speed, four-wheel disc brakes, and plenty of suspension upgrades, this 1989 Ford Mustang convertible is a big upgrade over stock. But it's no wolf in sheep's clothing. The aggressively sleek color combo, dual cowl hood, and mean stance make this one a bold wolf that can lead the pack.
This Mustang makes an instant stamen with the high-gloss black. It's the kind of finish you want to take downtown at night just so you can watch the neon .....
lights roll across the body. We especially like how this pony car shows off its extra power without taking it over-the-top. There's just the right amount of brightwork to draw your attention to the large dual exhaust tips and upgraded 17-inch alloys. The trunk looks extra smooth, and it ends with a subtle spoiler that reminds us of the special edition cars of this generation. And we especially like the hood. Cervini makes a lightweight fiberglass unit that looks distinctive, but the dual NACA scoops up front also remind us of the classic first-gem Mach 1 cars. So this is distinct while also still unmistakably a Mustang.
A nice black roof goes well with the black paint, but for real distinction, you're going to want to take it down. We're often used to seeing red cars with black interiors, but reversing the color theme gives you the same sporty style while making it even more memorable. And it's a comprehensive look, right down to the red convertible boot. So your first impression may just be about a nice and thoughtful car. In fact, there are comfortable features like power windows, power locks, a power convertible top, power lumbar support, power mirrors, an upgraded AM/FM/CD stereo with USB input, and provisions for air conditioning (it will need servicing to blow cold again. And the extra clean tweed cloth inserts in the seats are especially nice to have on a drop-top. But this isn't out to be a pure coddler. After all, the big tach with shift light and exterior-mounted auxiliary readouts are like a head-up display.
The engine bay almost looks like it's overflowing with power. In fact, while the best factory mustangs of this era had fuel-injected 5.0/302ci motors, this starts with a 347 cubic-inch stroker V8. The motor has nice features like cold air induction, a polished throttle body, an MSD distribution, and headers that let it exhale with added power and rumble into the dual exhaust. But what really makes this a power pony is the Paxton procharger. It turns this into a 450+ horsepower beast, and we have the dyno sheet to prove it! The big power motor feeds a stout five-speed manual transmission. And to make sure the chassis can handle this extra power, you have details like subframe connectors, lowering springs, and a Maximum Motorsports suspension upgrade kit that includes a torque brake, tubular control arms, and oversized sway arms. Add in power steering, four-wheel power disc brakes with large rotors, and grippy sport tires, and you have a powerful dark horse that's also quite tamable.
It takes a passionate person to create a Mustang with this much power and poise. So it's amazing such a complete package like this is up for grabs. Call today!!!
