I bought this truck 18 years ago in Oak Creek, Colorado. Purchased parts and pieces for years. I moved to Ottumwa, Iowa and retired in July 2009. I put the truck together in 15 months, the first day out of the garage we went to a local car show, and we took first place. We attended 17 car shows in Iowa, Missouri and Illinois. We took first place 12 times, 3 second place and 1 third place.
The cab is a COE 1951, it’s attached to a subframe that hinges on the front of a 1981 1/2T frame. Electric over hydraulic raises the cab, electric raises the nine foot long box from a 1948 Chevy pickup. 305 Chevy V8 powers the truck, 700R4 pulls it down the road. Rear end is a 9 inch Ford, Stall aluminum center section with 370 gears, 4 link coil over shocks. Wheels are 5 on 5 Chevy Rally, steering is from a Thunderbird power rack, custom aluminum radiator. Mr. Roadster wiring from Speed Way Motor. Four wheel disc brakes. It is a real head turner. This is our ride that is driven daily. Owned by Walter Estes of Ottumwa, IA
