the ''C'' denotes the last factory updates to the 356 chassis, the best representation of the sports car Ferry Porsche originally envisioned. After being stored for almost 20 years, in 1999 the 356C underwent a ground-up restoration from Gary Kempton. Along with cosmetic restoration, mechanical upgrades included a a 6v to 12v electrical conversion, a 1720cc big bore kit, SC camshafts and Solex carburetors, Koni shocks, and a Leistritz muffler.
After its sale in 2021, renowned Porsche specialist Canepa performed a full mechanical and cosmetic inspection and road test to ensure proper spec, as well as a 100-hour concours level detail of the exterior, interior and undercarriage.
